Here’s to the women of South Dixie Highway who have a passion for the vintage and the antique.

Their businesses on and near West Palm Beach’s Antique Row have reopened, and they are happy to be welcoming customers to their shops once again. As one would expect during these extraordinary times, face coverings are required for entry and social distancing should always be practiced.

The women have lots of new stock to offer.

Melanie Hill at Kofski’s Estate Sales has reinvented the business she runs with husband Chris. Earlier this year, she partnered with Doyle Auctions of New York to offer online sales. Melanie tells me the sales have been astoundingly popular. You can check out Kofski’s at the corner of Georgia Avenue and Bunker Road.

Shopping on Antique Row can be a fun day. Stop by Patricia’s Gallery at 3608 S. Dixie Highway for a look at her collection of chic, top-of-the-line accessories and furniture. Recently we purchased a pair of large glass hurricane-style candlesticks for the dining room console of a client in Boca Raton. Patricia Pingree-Clouet, who is certainly chic herself, was once a Vogue model. Just ask and she can show you — or find you — what your heart might desire.

Cross the road to see all the Scandinavian goodies at Faustina Pace Antiques, 3635 S. Dixie Highway; the shop is open by appointment only by calling (305) 495-0784. There always are lots of neutral pillows and fabrics in the store. Faustina is also the president of the South Dixie Antique Row Association.

And at Sold Gallery at 407 Roseland Drive off South Dixie, Niki McCullough sells a variety of items ranging from the classic to the contemporary. Niki is constantly scouting South Florida for antiques and paintings of distinction. The shop specializes in contemporary glass pieces, as well.

Then there is Judy Baron, with her spirited shop Brass Scale Antiques, a spot that’s been a fixture on the highway for many years. You’ll sometimes encounter Palm Beachers who come by simply to look at the display windows — always works of art, delightful and magical and filled with color and pattern. If you love the unusual, Judy’s shop at 3721 S. Dixie Highway is a must-visit.

And so the proprietresses are back where they belong, putting their talents to work. Pop on your mask and pop over to their shops to find something something special to add to your home.
