Every color sets a mood. “Color changes your life” Carleton Varney would often say, and indeed it does. I think yellow is the happiest of colors. The color hosts childhood freedom of sunny days, from daffodils, summer dresses, lemon meringue pies to kites and balloons. When decorating we love to see yellows in stripes, florals, lacquered paint and in baroque bouquet fabrics (shown here)

Who could not enjoy the vermilion yellow entrance gates and house trim which welcomes guests to Bonnett House in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Or the estates Orchid Display house repeating the same vivid yellow. Throughout the home you feel charmed and understand that sense of whimsy their color of yellow brings.
By day yellow offers a freshness and in evening a warmth. Because it’s a neutral color it compliments art, fabrics and furnishings. The visitors in that joyful room will also be at ease.
This room just off the Orchid House at Bonnet House displays an incredible collection of coral and seashells.

Let’s raise a toast to yellow and enjoy all its hues!
